Late Night Distraction
Ok, so right now I need a distraction. Aside from having a major breakdown after Easter service today about just generally feeling like a rotten person and then having one of my tires go flat on the way home tonight... I also feel Monday and a week of to-do's waiting ominously for me in just a few short hours. So tonight, for just a few brief minutes I will share with you one of my favorite distractions. Etsy. Now if you blog you probably know about Etsy. The simple graphic layout of the home page. The wonders of its seemingly inexhaustible search engine that produces everything from aardvark art prints to zebra zippers (ok, I made that last one up, but really... it's not far off). I can't imagine a more wonderful waste of my time than to browse through pages of handmade or vintage goods creating pages and pages of favorites. One of my newest favorites to stare at longingly is crafterall's shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Crafterall). Her organic "Topo" paper art pieces are so beautiful they are begging to be the centerpiece on a future wall in our future home. She also does custom pieces (Lake Michigan anyone?). Thank you crafterall for being a calming moment in what is quickly becoming a stormy sea... ah well back to real life. Good night moon, Good night room, Good night cow jumping over the moon.

Here we go.
Five months to go (or as my annoying theknot.com countdown continues to remind me, less than that). I feel like my life needs the jaws theme song playing in the background all the time (da dum....da dum... da dum...). Here comes... THE WEDDING DATE!! run for your lives!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about getting married. I love my fiancée. He is the perfect man for me. However, this fast approaching next step in my life means that I am now officially a grown up. It also means endless hours of planning, worrying, crying and laughing.
Thus begins what I intend to use as a sort of journal of the home stretch into the wedding and the beginning of my new life with my husband. I hope to post images and how-to's of my projects. There will probably also be posts about failed projects, crazy pre-wedding meltdowns, weight loss successes and failures, and ideas for our new home (which is still TBD).
If you are reading this (I have no idea who would read this, but maybe you got lost?) I hope this helps or makes you laugh or maybe even just fills a quiet moment that was looking for an occupation.
